I am a seller on Ebay, I am farely new but I do a good job. Recently I sold 2 books to a buyer and I dropped the package off at the post office on February 27th.. when you check the tracking number.. all it says is “Left Hazelwood MO on Feb. 28th”… it still says that and it’s almost April. So the lady filed a claim against me for a FULL refund. I sent paypal PROOF that I DID ship it and that it was out of my hands… can they give her a full refund out of my money?? There was no insurance on it either, which she could have purchased.
Every body I know who sells or buys at Ebay gets stolen from. This is because the programmers or themselves are creating a system which is impossible to prevent stealing from. They require very little identification. If you go in do not give out any credit information. The programmer who stole from me called my house threatened me, insulted me. I am still trying to get my money back from my credit card. Paypal is owned by the same company. The only thing you can assure yourself of is Ebay will make money no matter what and will not be held accountable for preventing thefts by anyone including your credit card company. My suggestion is you sell on Yahoo Auctions as they require people identify themselves but do not deal in credit cards or Paypal because the programmer are stealing or the system is so bad that it can be cracked and stolen from. I have enough programming experience to know when it is a programmer(s) stealing from me. I could tell many stories such that I began complaining to my bank, my credit card company and the Better Busines Bureau and the president of Ebay made up a lame excuse to get out of paying for it so that my dispute was dropped saying it was my fault etc. So I put in another and they would not accept it saying I had an open dispute so that is a mess with complaining about them to the BBB in silicon valley. I even wrote a woman personally at the BBB about it to never recieve anything back so I am going to have to write it by hand to them I guess. So until your numbers are up and people trust you because of feedback selling is slow to start at Yahoo. Keep in mind shipping can be high consider this when you sell because most people know what they can get something for at a thrift store or a discount store. If it is something currently being sold then it will be more difficult to sell it. If it was mass produced then it may not sell high. If it is not wanted or desired it may not sell at all. And you may have to sit on it and wait until someone decides they want it. Details and information help. Know your subject and shipping because I have lost on shipping often. Fedex or UPS is often less than USPS I prefer Fedex. Take a chance but I guarantee you that at Ebay you will be stolen from and your personal information will not be safe there. My bank told me when I called them at the top we have known for awhile that the stealing is within the Ebay and Paypal system itself so obviously they did it to other programmers.
Hi,
I bought something on ebay on September 28th for nearly $200. The seller shipped priority the next day. About a week later, my mail carrier (whom I had never met before) mentioned something about a package with my name on it that had been sent to the wrong address. It was the only package I had been expecting, so I contacted the seller to try to get tracking information, but she didn’t have any. I went in to the post office to try to track the package down, and they took down my name, phone number, and address, but still no one has contacted me. My usual mail carrier, the one who noticed the mistake on the package, seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
Does anyone know how to handle this via ebay? I know that I could take out a non-delivery complaint against the seller, but would it be more appropriate to request a refund first? Or is it a better idea to use ebay/paypal as a moderator?
Just to make this clear, my address is correct on my ebay and paypal accounts, so the wrong address was the seller’s mistake, not mine.
I have been waiting 2 1/2 weeks for something that should have been here in 2-3 days, so I would really just like to get my money back, but I’m not really sure how it works in this situation.
Thanks for any help!

Cool, arent they?
When I heard about the feedback changes I was slightly rattled, then when they were actually increasing seller’s fees I became more rattled. However, those just rattled by these issues, have not seen anything yet. Now eBay is going to force the seller to accept only Pay-Pal, Pro-Pal or merchant Credit Cards, if a sellers DSR drops below 4.3 they will not be allowed to list new items, and finally if you sell media (DVDs, Books, etc.) eBay will tell you what you can charge for postage, and give most sellers incentives to give away free shipping.

More proof that eBay does not like the sellers or buyers. READ Griffs answers to these questions.http://workshops.ebay.com/thread.jspa?th…
How can a company stay in business with this type of attitude?
Additional proof that eBay wants you to fail as both buyers and sellers (By not allowing you to take checks or money orders) Guess Christmas shopping will be a bust at eBay. That is okay I am starting to like Amazon.com better anyways.http://workshops.ebay.com/thread.jspa?th…
Read all the forum at: http://workshops.ebay.com/forum.jspa?for…
And tell me if the webpage: http://www.localaccess.com/wizard/ebaypl… that we were warned about is not in fact coming true. This is almost as bad as when Wal-Mart threw away there “Made In The U.S.A.” stance. I guess eBay will be better off selling to the Chinese since all this junk gets made over there anyways.
A YouTube video where you can hear eBay lie about these changes at the 2008 eBay live conference can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxVsH8zi-…
And all the eBay radio, townhall audio can be found at: http://www.wsradio.com/internet-talk-rad…
I know we are not going to be able to change eBay’s ideas about these major changes but I would like to know what you think about them, and if you have any good links related to this subject please include them with this question.
Maybe it is time for people to truly take a look at what is happening to the economy and how big business is allowed to get away with anything and everything they want to. AND no i do not think either McCain nor Obama could fix these problems.

Hi! I’d like to hear from genuine achievers working in any type of e-business what might be the most appropiate thing to do online in order to comply with following:
1) business to be managed in online environment only so selling actual stuff such as on eBay is rulled out
2) easily expandable without applying much work from my part
3) my goal is to turn business as my only source of income within 1 year and desired income is around 4k $ a month.
Right now I am reflecting on which model would be right for me since there are so many of them. So I am looking at running a website and placing ads on it, becoming an affiliate, running a membership site, reselling web hosting and selling drop-shipped poducts. I just don’t know where to start and probably you could give me some hint or suggest some more ways of doing business online. Thank You!
If you own a local business, you may not think the internet will help you. After all, it is called the world wide web. This may suggest that it is only for large companies with outlets in many cities. While the web is great for big business, it is also a huge boon for local stores and services. In fact, it may actually be easier and cheaper to target a local market than a large national or international market.
Look for directories that are about your town.
You do not even have to pay for many of these services. Others have very low rates. Most business people would not want to turn down a free advertisement if they new they could get one.
Consider the major search engines like Google and Yahoo. They offer free local business listings. Lots of people use these for search too. How many times have you searched for a business address on a major search engine? So you can see that you may be handing your customers to the competition if you do not have local listings.
Small, local directories are also popping up. Even the smallest towns seem to have them. These are good because visitors tend to bookmark them as a good source of information about the place they live. I would advise any local business to look for these too. They can be a great way to help customers find your building.
Niche directories can bring in interested visitors.
So you can also look for market niche directories and search engines. Lots of them have searches so visitors can find a local business that has the products or services they want to find. This is another type of directory you should not overlook.
Let us say you run a doll hospital. People who collect dolls, or even people who buy and sell dolls, would be interested in knowing that you have this local service. They may need to get items fixed or to buy supplies. If you can provide this help, you would want to connect with these potential customers where they hang out!
Online networking, on social networking websites, is also huge.
Most of us have signed up with a social networking website. These are great ways to connect with friends, but they are also powerful marketing tools. Many businesses have their own page While you are catching up with your best friend from third grade or your first love, you should also be plugging your business.
Do not forget about online forums.
Forums are still very popular. They were the social networking websites before the newer kind of social networking became so big. These threaded discussion boards attract a lot of local members. If you can get involved in one as a respected participant, you can find a great source of prospects too. Just be sure to follow the rules so you do not get banned.
You have to follow the forum rules, but almost all of them will let you have a link back to your own website. You may be able to have a signature line with your own link. Or if it is in the context of the particular post, you may be allowed to drop that link in your post.

I have an ambition and drive to design and set up an ecommerce website and build a future with a residual income. I have spent 4 years learning and researching however, my main obstacle, well, only one, is money. i work full time but due to poor credit rating from mistakes made years ago, i am unable to get any help towards setting it up. I can provide proofs of income and also show further what i am aiming to do and build. I would be grateful to anyone who can point me in the right direction please. i dont even need alot to get set up but its ensuring running costs for those first few months it will take to establish my store. Look forward to hearing from you.
